Aims and Objective of the project:
The project has four fold objectives as given below:
- Setting up of a dismantling and segregation workshop infrastructure at NIELIT-Gangtok for showcasing and demonstrating effective Dismantling, Segregation and Inventorization processes to the trainees.
- Training of 20 nos. Master Trainers from the 8 NE States on “E-Waste Management, Dismantling and Segregation” for effective handling and recycling of e-waste products.
- Training/Entrepreneurship Development Programme of 240 nos. unemployed youths from NE States on “E-Waste Management, Dismantling and Segregation”.
- Training 240 nos. stakeholders (all categories) including SPCBs, Customs Authority stationed in NE-states, manufacturer, producer, consumer, bulk consumer, the collection centres, dealers, e-retailer, refurbisher, dismantler and recycler who are directly involved in manufacture, sale, transfer, purchase, collection, storage and processing of e-waste or electrical and electronic equipment listed in Schedule-I of E-Waste Management Rules 2016.
The introductory and theoretical concepts (for b and c above) would be conducted in Online mode by NIELIT- Gangtok and participants can attend the same from their respective location. However, for the hands-on and practical sessions (only for point nos. i and ii above) of 5 days duration post Online sessions, the nominated participants are required to travel to NIELIT- Gangtok for which necessary TA/DA would be provided by NIELIT-Gangtok as per norms. For d above, training would be conducted in Online mode.
